London, we have some sun! Huzzah! Finally, I can see summer nearing and I'm a lot happier. Do I have to start all my blog posts by rambling on about the weather? Yes. I live in England and that is all we do here!

This month, I've teamed up with the lovely Dorothy Perkins (#DPDenim) to show you a few of their new jeans and how to style them. These jeans are the Darcy ones, and I haven't taken the off since they arrived. They're so comfortable and they cut at such a flattering length for me. They're supposed to be ankle grazers but seeing as I am 5"9, they stop mid to bottom shin and I absolutely love it.

I can't wait to wear this pair to fashion week in the next few days, creating an effortlessly cool chic look with them. But for todays look I decided to go for something I would wear to a (blog) meeting or event. The joys of being a blogger/ freelancer, is that you can legit wear what you want to a meeting, and for me in the winter, jeans it is!

I picked this bomber jacket up when I was in Barcelona a few months back, it was about €15 and my friends and I instantly fell in love with it. I've also got to mention the fact that we left our apartment in summer clothes, only to be freezing halfway through the evening and had to find a shop to buy some warm clothes so finding this little bargain was a huge relief!

I really like the earthy tones of this look, it would be great for a day out, you could simply swap the booties for a pair of flats or trainers and you're set to go all day.

On another note, next month I'll be going to Rome for a few days, (yes I know I have a love affair with Italy) are there any places you recommend for me to visit while I'm out there?

How to do Smart Casual

Wednesday, 10 February 2016

Shop my look here:

The age old question. What defines smart casual? Whether you're going in for a first day at a new job, or out to a fancy restaurant. Whenever I see the words smart casual, I have a little panic of frustration. Does that mean jeans and a shirt? Can I wear trainers with my dress?I've never been a girl to rock a pair of smart trousers much, let alone teaming it with a shirt. Even when I worked in schools, I would opt for dresses, or trousers and a jumper. I feel like it's a lot easier for women to get away with smart wear than men. Now for them, smart casual is such a dilemma.

So I've still tried to make this look oh so FARSHUN by adding my own little spin to it. I've teamed a pair of pinstrip trousers with a lighter blue shirt, and kept it slightly open to have a hint of bralet on show. I feel this really softens the look and makes it less corporate. After all, fashion should be fun and comfortable.

You could add a pair of heels with this look and do an extra few buttons up making it perfect for the office, but I've kept it casual with my favourite EVER trainers (thanks bro). If you work in fashion, you can really get away with dressing like this, and that's something that I love. On another note, can spring/summer hurry up so I don't freeze while out shooting photos. Thank you!

What's your thoughts on this smart casual look?

OH EM GEE. This coat is so dreamy. From its candy floss colour to it's length, it is the perfect winter jacket for this season. There's something so reminiscent about a pink coat. As I was growing up, I always wanted to look more sophisticated, and stayed away from such girly colours, but now I can't seem to get enough of pastels.

This jacket would look amazing with an all white outfit, or with a mixture of different pastels. I can't wait to style it up as the days get colder with a thick chunky knit scarf and over the knee boots.

I am a devout fan of Chi Chi London, you can find my previous posts featuring some of their gorgeous pieces here, here and here.

What's your thoughts of pastels in the winter? How would you style this jacket?
