What To Wear On New Years Eve

Friday 30 December 2016

I think I've found the perfect outfit for New Years Eve, or any other occasion in the New Year, as this dress is absolutely stunning! Don't you agree?

There's something about a white dress that I adore. I can't get enough. A lot of people tend to shy away from white as they feel it's unflattering or very bridal. But I think it's all down to how you style white. Going for monochrome or an entire all white look brings an ere of sophistication to an outfit.

This all white dress is embellished but it's not over the top. It has some pearls and a few sequins without screaming look at me, and those who have been following me for a while now know that I prefer much more muted outfits that stand out on their own without having to shout out!

I decided to wear these River Island heels that i bought sometime last year, but I feel they looked great with the white by adding a pop of colour. Although they are a year old, they still look current and on trend and i just can't get over the little pom pom details!

As it is VERY cold at the moment, I've made sure to add a coat to show you all that being stylish doesn't mean you need to leave your coat at home! Keep warm and don't forget your coat. As the dress is such a beautiful piece, I felt the contrast with this jacket looked so amazing.

Conrad St James Christmas Afternoon Tea

Friday 23 December 2016

If you've followed my blog for a while you will know how much I adore afternoon tea. A bunch of my blogger friends and I have made it our mission to try all the afternoon teas in London. And although I've been to the Conrad St James before (read here) I had to go back and try their Christmas menu, because why not!

This time, I decided to take my mum. As most of you know, my mum is not only my mum and my best friend, she is also a huge support for me on my blogging career and is my number one photographer. So I decided to take her to one of my favourite places as a huge thank you to all her hard work this last year.

Back in the summer I attended the Candy Shop Afternoon Tea with a friend, and to my surprise, members of staff remembered me. I feel like good customer service is what makes any experience memorable, and the staff at the Conrad are always friendly and helpful. But one thing that is above all is the food.

This time, trying the Christmas menu was a welcomed treat. With the champagne flowing we picked our teas. I went for a peppermint tea as that is my favourite. I'm quite boring in the sense that I always try new fruity teas and they never leave me as satisfied as a good peppermint tea does. My mum however, she decided to let the staff choose her tea for her and she received a delicious blend of green tea and blueberry (which I tried and was amazing).

As I requested no pork and no cinnamon beforehand, the chefs added two different item to our meal. With an array of delicious sandwiches and quinoa salad, we moved on to the scones. Which is possibly the best part of afternoon tea. One toasted pecan and one cranberry & orange later, we were so full!

After so much food, there hardly is ever any room for the desert, but I always make sure to try at least something. I decided to go for the white forest gateaux, which was incredible. Mum tried the plum, raspberry & almond tart which she said was also so delicious but we really couldn't eat anymore.

As we couldn't eat anymore, we decided to take the rest (and that beautiful chocolate wreath) home to eat a few hours later.

How do you feel about afternoon teas? Would this be something you would take your mum to?

How To Style The Micro Flare

Saturday 17 December 2016

As I've got older my love for jeans has grown. As I've mentioned again and again, growing up I was always that girl in a dress, but I've noticed as time has gone on, I much prefer wearing jeans, especially in the winter.

I'm currently obsessed with this pair from Joe's Jeans. They're called the micro flare. As someone who is obsessed with fashion, and I mean obsessed, I have noticed that fashion icons are slowly steering away from the classic skinny jean. And I for one am quite excited about this. I mean, how many pairs of black skinny jeans can one person own, it looks like I wear the same pair everyday. So this move to more exciting jeans has me over the moon.

Being 5"9 I find myself constantly worried that the length of items I buy online tend to be a little shorter than I would like, but I've realised that the micro flare looks good being quite short. And if they were any longer, I wouldn't be able to wear them with flats.

I went for a really smart but casual look for this post. I decided I wanted to pair the jeans with my H&M boots I bought back in February as I adore the colour against indigo jeans. This is an outfit I would quite happily wear to events and meetings all around London as it's comfortable enough to run about it but the shirt and style of jeans keeps me looking super smart.

What's great about finding a good pair of jeans is that they can last you many different seasons, and years to come. I can't wait for the days to get a little warmer and for me to style these jeans with a nice blazer and less layers.

Are you a fan of the transition into different style of jeans? Do you like the idea of the micro flare?

An Alternative Christmas Dress

Thursday 15 December 2016

When I think of evening dresses, Next doesn't usually come to mind. But this season Next have really upped their game. They are absolutely killing it, and most importantly, their dresses are a lot more elegant and classier than a lot of the other dresses that can be bought online. Granted, I'm a sucker for wearing clothes that not everyone will be wearing, so I was pleasantly surprised to have found this gem.

I really love the fact that it is such a girly dress. With the mesh embroidered detailing it is such a statement piece without being too revealing. I am also obsessed with the sleeve detailing. Look how cute.

When I put this dress on my mum couldn't stop staring and saying how cute I looked. I wore this to a Christmas party last month and received SO many compliments it was unreal. So it you're looking for something to wear this season, make sure you pop into next to grab this dress before stocks run out!
