I've never had an office job where I've had to dress in a suit everyday, but I have dabbed in a few jobs where I could dress smart casual. I found that it was really easy for me to start incorporating a few different pieces into my wardrobe for work, while still being able to wear the items on days where I don't want to dress far too smart.
Take for instant this shirt. It's quirky, yet smart. For those who work in an office, this look great with smart trousers and a blazer, and those like me can style it with a pair of skinny jeans and a leather jacket for the perfect day to day outfit.
When it comes to these heels, I don't know where to start. They were an impulse buy a few weeks back. One Thursday night, while in central london trekking around event after event, the shoes that I was wearing (which I've worn about twenty times before) were giving me the worlds worst blisters...on BOTH feet. And after searching for Boots to find blister plasters, I gave up and popped into one on the Zara's on Oxford Street and knew they would be perfect as they were able to slightly brush over the blisters and let me party all night long!
Although they were a lot higher than the initial pair of heels, they were super comfortable, and matched my outfit perfectly. They are also really easy to dress up for events, work, meetings, and dress down with a pair of black jeans.
How do you incorporate smart/ workwear into your wardrobe?
