Chi Chi Clothing Gold Lace Dress

Friday 30 January 2015

There are no words to say about this dress but, HOW PRETTY!

I put a quick snap on instagram when I received this dress and so many ladies said that they would wear this as a wedding dress.

I've always loved lace dresses and the lace detailing is absolutely gorgeous, it's embroidery is so detailed that the dress does not need any accessories.

To cut a long story short, I decided to go on a shoot in Covent Garden with my lovely cousin who's an up and coming photographer (click here for details), and we decided it would be best to have my hair up so that we could show off the gorgeous neck detailing.

Despite the freezing cold, we managed to take some beautiful shots, He really is talented. So a massive thank you Alkin, the photos have just turned out 100 times better than I could have imagined. I couldn't choose between them and instead of bombarding my Instagram with so many photos I thought I'd upload a load of them here.

*I am wearing a size 8 (small).

If you would like a hair tutorial just leave me some comments below.

Do you like lace dresses? Where would you wear this dress?

How To Dress For Your Size/ Shape

Thursday 29 January 2015

How to dress for your size
Image is not mine

This is a long overdue post I've had in my drafts for ages. It has also been one of my highest requested posts and I've finally managed to get around to producing it. As the title suggests, I will be advising you lovely ladies with a few tips and tricks to dress for your body shape no matter what size you are. If this is exactly what you've been waiting for, I've got a post on finding the best jeans for you next week.

Heavy Arms (Bingo Wings)
I may be skinny, but I still feel quite conscious about my arms. Make sure you stay away from anything that is sleeveless or cap sleeved. You just wont feel comfortable, so wear clothes with bell sleeves, 3/4 length or long sleeved.

Small Bust
Not everyone is blessed with huge assests, so to save yourself from looking like a 10 year old boy avoid wearing anything with a deep plunging neckline. Instead, you should choose dresses with a scoop or bandeau neck with details such as lace, sequins etc. Also make good use of statement necklaces.

Big Bust
Ladies with big boobies don't make the mistake that many women do by buying the tightest dresses and tops you can find in attempt to make that area look smaller. Instead, choose dresses with halter tops and deep V necks with fabrics that just skim your body.
In order to balance your body pair with an A-line skirt that falls just bellow the knee.

Full Hips and Thighs (Commonly Known As Pear-shaped)
You want to take focus away from the largest part of your body ( those thighs and hips so it's best to wear dresses that are an A-line fit. For those of you who don't speak fashion, that's something that is tight around the waist and flows like the letter A outwards. Also make sure you wear skirts and dresses that fall at least 2inches above the knee as it cuts at such a flattering length. It's also best to pay attention to your upper body, wear halter necks, necklaces, or something with more cleavage.

Thick Waist (Apple Shape)
It's funny how our bodies are compared to fruit. But if you do have this body shape, don't be alarmed or upset, all you need to do to elongate your body is to wear clothes with lower waistlines, and never wear a thick chunky belt, opt for something slimmer and dainty, that way you're still breaking the body into two different sections but it's a lot more subtle.

Plus Sized (Curvalisious)
Most plus size ladies tend to layer themselves in baggy clothes in attempt to cover all their gorgeous lumps and bumbs. But that's where you're going wrong, instead you should choose loose fabrics that don't cling to your body, but drape nicely. Go for wrap around dresses and don't fear colour and prints, go all out ladies. I've also found that some ladies like the look of a peplum dress so be sure to try that the next time you're shopping.

Too Thin (Skinny Minies)
You lucky ladies can go all out with the layering. Go for a chunky knit dress and add cardigans and fitted jackets to help bulk you up. If you have thin legs try to avoid mini skirts, try wearing more flowy mid-mini to knee length dresses. There are also those bubble dresses (that ironically look like bubbles) as they give the appearance of a larger lower body.

The Shift Dress (All of You Beauties)
The shift is a dress, unlike most is flattering on almost everyone. A shift dress hangs straight down from the shoulder/ neck. It skims your body nicely, but doesn't cling. You can jazz these up with necklaces, but you will find that many already come with bejewelled neck lines.

Do you have any tips for dressing for your size? Make sure you leave comments bellow to let others know and don't forget to share this post.

Flannels and Converses

The other day, despite my boyfriends best attempts I stole this flannel top from him (I doubt he'll get it back) and have been wearing it ever since. It's so warm and cosy and smells just like him so I thought it was about time that I did an outfit post on it.

Have you ever thought 'how can I style this flannel shirt I haven't worn in years?' Well take a look at the photos bellow for some inspirations.

I've styled it in a casual way, with a bit of jazz, I've decided to show you wearing converses, and wearing my new heels from Dorothy Perkins.

The shirt is blue and white and I thought it would look amazing with dark denim or black jeans. This would also look great with denim shorts for the summer. If you wanted you could even dress it up with a pair of heels.

What do you think of flannel shirts? I've never really been a fan until recently.

Missguided Active Wear

Tuesday 20 January 2015

So that's right, Missguided have finally launched their activewear range. It features a range of sports bras, jumpers, leggings and jumpers in an array of marble prints, greys, blacks and a dash of neon. Super cute.

I've never been a fan of sportswear as everything always seems so bland, unflattering and too 'I go to the gym' vibey (is that even a word?) But the missguided range is super flattering and here's some of the pieces that I'm lusting over.

I will post a look with my new activewear gear as soon as they arrive.

But for now, make sure you click on the images you like and start your road to fittness.

How to style baseball/ bomber jackets

Recently I've been seeing a lot of these bomber/ baseball jackets around, and if I see something around long enough I start to fall in love with it (fashion stuff mainly). So I decided to buy this one from Pretty Little Thing the other day.

It can be worn as something to dress an outfit down or you can go all out and sporty with it. I will definitely be uploading a few more lookbooks focusing on this jacket.

In this outfit I decided to add the jacket to a somewhat office/ smart outfit. By adding the wooly socks the jacket doesn't look out of place and it helped keep my totsies warm. And of course I added my amazing boots, from Asos

What do you think of these sorts of jackets?
