DP SS16 Style Heros: Ankle Grazers And Sleeveless Jackets

Thursday 31 March 2016

Shop my look here

When a new season comes about I always find a few products that I know will take me through the entire season. This time, I know that these ankle grazer trousers and sleeveless jacket will be my go to pieces. They're exactly what I like in key items; chic, versatile and so trendy. For me, these items are my style heros, they're my go to items on days where I can't find anything to wear. What's your style hero piece/s?

When it comes to the warmer months in London I love wearing sleeveless jackets, because lets face it, we only really get two weeks of blissful weather, and the temperature is constantly changing (hello four seasons in one day) so I find that the sleeveless jacket is perfect to wear over a thin strapped top as it is light enough not to keep you too hot, but warm enough when the weather goes 180 degrees on you.

A lot of people struggle to wear sleeveless blazers, but it doesn't have to be. Keep it simple. That's it. Don't go overboard with lots of different statement pieces. The blazer is the statement, so work around it.

As of late, cropped trousers are my thing. I've always been a tall girl, and trousers have always grazed my ankles, so when that trend came around I was thanking my lucky stars. But I've taken it up a knotch and gone full out cropped. I feel like it elongates my legs and is super flattering on my shape. Also, what I love about blogging, is one day you'll see me in cropped jeans, and the next day I'll be in a pair like these ones. You all know how much I love mixing my style around.

Make sure you head over to Dorothy Perkins Instagram page and vote for me to win their style competition!

Feathers Boutique Tour With Farfetch

Tuesday 29 March 2016

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting one of the 400 plus boutiques that run under Farfetch. I was invited down to Feathers in Kensington where I was able to look around the boutique and learn more about how Farfetch and the boutiques work together.

Farfetch is an online luxury boutique, which works with different boutiques all over the world, making different collections and pieces shoppable. This said customers are able to visit any of the 400 plus stores from London to New york, Milan and many more locations so you can get the full experience.

We started with a tour around the store, with the wonderful staff showing us all the new collections and designers. What I loved most was that the staff had done their research and knew what my personal style was so they showed me a few pieces that they knew I would love. That's always a good touch.

What I love most about little boutiques is that you can find things that larger stores don't have. Feather's is a stones throw away from Harrods, however, the stock is completely different. For me, I love going into boutiques to find something different, I get excited finding something that nobody else has. I had an absolutely awesome time in store and loved looking at all the new designer pieces that have started to drop in for SS16. Can't wait for my next visit!

Matalan The Edit Style Guide

Monday 28 March 2016

Shop my look here:

This month Matalan launched their The Edit collection, and I'm over the moon with the entire collection. I don't think there's a piece that I don't like.

A few weeks ago I was invited to the launch party at the Oxford Street branch where I got to see all the pieces and have a go at their new virtual mirror, which is AWESOME. I love technology, so when I see technology and fashion combine I get super excited. If you don't know what I virtual mirror is, it's a mirror, with sensors a screen and a camera. You look into the mirror and on the screen you can swipe and choose a different outfit. Once you're happy, you raise your arm then pose for the camera. I know, so cool.

Back to fashion! I receive so many emails about people struggling to style white jeans and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to help you all with some inspiration. For me, white and denim is ALWAYS a good idea. It oozes spring summer, and has that laid back but put togetherness that I adore.

As london is still a little too cold, I decided to pair my denim esque tunic with a double denim (triple if you count the white jeans) look to keep me warm without adding more colour to the look. I wanted the look to just flow and I knew these Linzi heels would look perfect with the denim and white hues. What do you think?

Check out the rest of The Edit, and keep a look out for a little something of me on the Matalan website here.
