The week of Fashion Week in February was so exciting for me. I was given the opportunity to head over to Nicky Clarke's salon in Mayfair for breakfast and blow dries. Not only that, but I also had the chance to meet the ever so wonderful Nicky himself, who actually said I had great hair. He may have just been saying it to be polite, but i'll take it. He's been a great influence to the hair industry and worked on more catwalk shows that I could ever imagine.
There's something special about heading into a top hair dressers salon in London to get your hair done. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and let you know ways to incorporate a style that will suit you.
The salon itself is somewhere you can go and actually feel really comfortable relaxed and put your mind at ease. With two floors; the first floor for styling, and the bottom floor for treatments and colouring, the salon maintains its theme with lots of large windows to allow a lot of natural light. It's refreshing to go to a salon in London with a basement that doesn't feel small, dingy and cramped.
The beautiful magazine covers and shoots that Nicky has worked on over the years are displayed all over the salon which adds a unique aesthetic to the salon, it's lovely to see all the campaigns and models he's worked on as you walk around.
I've always been a fan of a big bouncy blow dry so thats what I asked Andrew Williams, the Advanced Director who styled my hair for me. The results were incredible! It lasted two days without dropping out, and for me, that's AMAZING! My hair usually just about lasts one day, even less if I'm up in London running errands. I have never received so many complements on my hair. Everywhere I went, everyone was asking what was so different, and why my hair was so bouncy! So thanks to the lovely team at Nicky Clarke (www.nickyclarke.com) for giving me the ultimate start to fashion week.
