How To Style Summer Dresses

Sunday 29 May 2016

When summer comes all I want to do is walk and explore. I love going on holiday and exploring new cities, but what I love more is exploring my own city. And there's no better way than to pop on a cute summer dress and a pair of comfortable sandals and go. This dress is sure to be a statement piece in my wardrobe this season, and I'm sure it will remain there for years to come.

I adore the thin rope detailing. Anything with rope belts make me feel like I'm a sailor and that just leaves me wanting to go to the beach, and what's better than the beach on a warm summers day...(A BBQ)

I hope you all like this short summer dress styling video. Please don't forget to like, subscribe and share so I know that you like these sorts of videos.

Friday 27 May 2016

Ever found yourself rushing around the day before a business trip or holiday, trying to fit in that last minute eyebrows, eyelash extension and nails appointment? What would you say if I told you that you don't need to run around like a headless chicken anymore. Cloud Spa, an in house or shall I say in airport spa is here to solve all your beauty issues. With a spa in Stanstead, Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands airports.

I know! One less stress, and one way to get you all relaxed and ready just before your flight. Cloud Spa specialise in 15 minute treatments, that's quick, easy and hassle free as we know how stressful airports can be. They offer a wide range of treatments that include, eyebrow and eyelash tints/extensions, massages, gel nails, pedicures and many many more, see their treatment menu here.

I was kindly invited down to test out the service at my local airport (where this happened). I decided to get a 15 minute gel polish done. As I'm writing this it's been over a week and my nails still look like they were just done today.

If you ever find yourself with an extra 15 minutes to spare at duty free, why not pop into the spa (in the middle of duty free in Stanstead) and get yourself pampered for your holiday. I've also got an exclusive code for you to receive £5 off your treatment, simply quote 'BLOG16'.

Orange and Green Dress

Wednesday 25 May 2016

I am in full holiday mode. This dress has got me dreaming of walking down the beach with my feet in the sand, the crisp wind blowing through my hair... I can not wait for August when I will be taking some time away from London and truly relaxing with the sun, sea and lots of yummy cocktails.

I'm loving the combination of the orange and the green in this dress. It has this totally laid back feel to it. This is something that I will be wearing as soon as I land on holiday, and if London decides to give us a warm summer, I'll definitely be rocking this around town.

For the summer, I adore wearing anything off the shoulder, strapless or really thin straps. It makes me feel a lot freer. In the winter, we are constantly wrapped up, cowl neck jumpers and turtle necks are key items in my wardrobe, so when summer hits I don't want to be restricted anymore, and I make sure most of my outfits are bare minimum!

What's your favourite thing to wear in the summer months?

Gold and White

Gold Top Zara (similar here) | White Jeans | Beige Creepers

When shopping, I tend to look for pieces that are quite neutral, something that I believe will be easy to mix and match, that way, when I'm struggling to find something to wear, I know that all the items I have in my wardrobe will match.

I wanted the main focus on this look to be this gorgeous Micro Mini handbag from Kurt Geiger. As soon as I saw it I just fell in love. It has got to be the cutest bag I've seen in a long time, and yes, my phone does fit inside it (barely) but it's one of those bags you take with you when you've got a lot of walking to do and don't want to carry anything to heavy. If you're anything like me, you find yourself stuffing bags as much as you can which then leads to wonky shoulders! So micro mini's all the way for me.

I'm a little late to these creepers/ trainers trend, but I made the leap and decided to finally style them up. I like the way they look with the white jeans in this look. What do you think?

Get Your Body Ready For Summer With Scrub Love

Friday 20 May 2016

Whether you like it or not, it's that time of year again. Long gone are the days of wrapping up warm, it's time to get our body ready for bare legs season. The basis to perfect summer skin you ask; exfoliating.

Although I usually exfoliate during the winter, I find my body needs to be exfoliated a lot more during the summer months (probably because there's more body on show) so I tend to update my exfoliating rituals during the warmer months.

Body scrubs are essential for that fresh skin we all desire, scrubbing your body 2-3 times a week is ideal as it gives your skin time to breathe in between, it removes all the dead skin cells and is essential at stopping any ingrown hairs for those who wax or shave. If you haven't exfoliated before, I couldn't recommend using a body scrub more.

I've been using the Scrub Love scrubs for over a month now and I'm really impressed with the way it leaves my skin feeling so soft, without feeling like I've had to shed a layer of skin in the process. The formulation, the smells and the way the product feels on the skin is great for an at home scrub. Coffee based scrubs are really good at targeting stretch marks and cellulite.

Their scrubs are all coffee based, there's the Original Lovin, the Coconut Affair and the Mint Temptation (my favourite, I feel like it wakes my skin up). Each sachet comes with it's own distinctive smell and ingredients perfect for whatever you fancy that day.

What's really handy with these products are that they come in a resealable waterproof sachet that make it perfect for leaving it in your shower for easy access, meaning you're more likely to reach for it while showering.

If you're looking for a scrub that will leave your skin smooth, soft and hydrated then look no further than Scrub Love. You won't be disappointed.

Are you a fan of coffee scrubs?

Off The Shoulder Maxi Dress

Wednesday 18 May 2016

shop my look here

For years maxi dresses have been a summer wardrobe staple. They're perfect for that bohemian, laid back look, and lets not deny the fact that it's perfect for when you've forgotten to shave your legs! It looks like this season the traditional maxi dresses have had a slight modification. Prints are a lot larger and fortunately for me, they've been combined with the off the shoulder trend. Now this is something that I can stay onboard with.

You all know how (literally) obsessed I am with anything off the shoulder (see here and here) that I just can't stop going on about them. I love the combination of the off the shoulder and the curly hair, it just makes me want to wander the streets of a small island ( 11 weeks and 2 days left).

Another hot piece this season is the cut out lace detailed sandals, these ones from Pretty Little Thing are so comfortable and stylish. I can wear them all day running around London as they have a rubber sole and a cushioning lining.

Keep the look simple with a pair of black shades and you're set to go.
