How To Nail The White Dress

White dresses are something that a lot of ladies tend to shy away from. I don't know why. But myself included, I tend to only wear a white dress on a special occasions such as my birthday, graduation (if I ever get married). What is this social stigma that white makes you look fat. Is it that it draws a lot of attention to ourselves? Whatever it is, it's time to change.

As you all know, I like to do as I preach so I was on the hunt for the perfect white dress for spring/ summer. And I think you'll all love this piece just as much as I do! I've also got another blog post coming soon where I show you all how to style this piece differently.

When the core of your outfit is white, it's so easy to play with colours. You can go completely monochrome, or you can add some vibrant colours, pastels, or go completely neutral. The decision is totally up to you and what you feel comfortable with. 

As I am currently obsessed with these red mules, I knew I had to team them with this dress. For me, teaming white with a bright colour is something I love to do. I can't wait to wear this dress all over spring summer as I have so many option on how to style it.

Wearing Navy And Green

In my head, it's officially spring, and that means one thing only. It's time to start bracing the cold weather and wearing dresses. If you've been following my fashion journey you would know that I'm not a fan of tights, (working in retail for so many years and being forced to wear tights has put me off for life) therefore, I tend to wear a lot more trousers in winter. 

That said, I LOVE dresses. They are my favourite thing to wear as they are so effortless. One piece and you're done. No worrying about having to find a top that matches or vice versa. But, it's still not warm enough to bare legs, so that means the thigh highs are back out for another season! 

This Hallhuber dress is absolutely stunning. You may have got a quick glimpse at this dress at my daily vlog here. It's the cutest dress I have come across in a long time. The fact that it's not a floral print means I can wear it all the way through to autumn, and possibly even winter (IF I dare).

What really caught my eye was the neck detailing. It has this type of pussybow/tie section which is attached to the dress and clips around the back. It adds this androgynous feeling to the entire look which I love.

I teamed it with a Navy blue coat as I like the way it juxtaposed with the green and creams in the dress.

All Black Gingham

With the days getting (slightly) warmer, on the odd occasion I leave the big winter coats at home and head out in my trusty leather jacket. One I have owned for longer than I can even remember!

With LFW literally around the corner I am getting super excited planning some outfits, and this is perfect for my Friday outfit. 

This season there's something super SUPER exciting happening, but you'll have to follow along on my Insta stories @teralatilan to find out what it is on Thursday night! So I'm getting all my outfits planned and ready in advance for what's set to be my most exciting season to date.

Regarding fashion week, I adore the street style. I love the way bloggers, fashion insiders and fashion enthusiasts take the street to showcase their favourite trends, combinations and styles. There's always so much energy and enthusiasm that I love.

I've put together one of my favourite looks of 2017 together. Whenever I struggle to find something to wear, I know that an all black outfit will bring me out of my rut, and it always looks so effortless and chic. By adding a gingham top I have added another dimension to the entire look. What do you all think of this outfit?

How To Wear Neutrals With Designer Exchange

One thing that you all know about me is that I am a sucker for Designer Bags. I love mixing high street with high end accessories. I feel like it ties an entire outfit together and makes the overall outfit look a lot more expensive than it actually is.

But designer does not have to be super expensive. I have already mentioned this brand before here, but since then I have gained a huge number of new readers and followers and thought I would reintroduce the brand as they have rebranded.

Designer Exchange is perfect for someone starting out buying designer or if you are looking to change the bags in your wardrobe. If you have a designer bag that you no longer love, you can pop into any of their six stores and exchange or sell your used bag. The team at Designer Exchange have gone through so much training and can spot a fake designer bag a mile away! They then put the bag for sale and any one can purchase online or in store.

I was very kindly gifted a voucher that I could redeem against any of the bags/accessories on the Designer Exchange website or stores. I decided to go for this Dior Miss Dior Promenade Pouch, Pink Lambskin. I have a few day bags so I wanted something that was more of an evening bag, with the option to use during the day. It's small, elegant and such a classic. I'm obsessed.

The condition of my Dior bag at first glance is perfect. After a little assistance in the Knightsbridge store I was told about the small scratch on the bag of the bag and the discolouration of the leather where the chain had been sitting. But after inspection, it was all I wanted so I preceded. When buying a used/second hand/vintage whatever you like to call it bag, you must be open and aware that the bag may not be in pristine condition.

I know a few people will be a little put off by the thought of buying a designer bag second hand, but as I mentioned before, the team are so well trained, and prices reflect the condition of the bag. You are able to buy bags for £150, all the way up to over £7000 for a Hermes. Whatever your budget, you're sure to find something you will like.

I decided to go for quite a neutral top, I feel like wearing colours in a similar colour palette can be quite sexy and can even be classy. I've left my shirt half buttoned giving a bit of depth to look look as the coat is oversized.

Blogging Vs Instagram

A year ago I attended the Cosmo Blog Awards. This year, it all changed. No longer a blog award, it was open to everyone with the ability to influence. It was relaunched as the Cosmo Influencers Awards, and it really made me think of this whole divide between Instagramers and bloggers. 

I know the term influencer can also mean Youtubers, Facebook pages and a whole range of other ways to influence that I don't event know, but over the last year I have noticed the difference between bloggers and Instagrames more than ever.

Over the last few months, I have been asked more and more for promotion simply on Instagram. When at events, people always ask if I am solely on Instagram and are actually quite surprised when I say that I also have a blog. The reality is that I started my blog, and Instagram came later. But I feel that the opposite is a lot more today. I remember, the first image I posted on my Instagram was a picture of my remote control. (I had no idea what the platform was, I assumed it was a photo editing app, and when I started to receive followers I was shocked). And now, it is another creative output I use to help promote my blog posts.

None the less, a lot of my following and influence comes via social media, mainly Instagram, and generally speaking, I think this is the same for a majority of people (I know a lot of bloggers have more of a following on their own blog/youtube channel, I'm speaking generally here). Social media is something that we all indulge in; whether it be Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, we have all played around with one social channel and have found one that we enjoy the most. 

That said, at this moment and time, I don't think I could ever give up on my blog. I enjoy the writing side of it all, this is where it all started for me. Sometimes I do feel like it's a lot easier to put up a picture and let everyone know where everything is from, because at the end of the day, there's only so much you can say about a top or a pair of heels. But for me, my blog is my everything. I have spent so many hours editing, writing and coding to create my own little space online, that the thought of neglecting it makes me feel like I am neglecting a baby (sad I know).
