Do Holidays Ruin Reality?

Monday, 15 January 2018

As of recently, I've been feeling so demotivated. I find that after every holiday it takes me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things and I genuinely don't know why. The addition of Christmas, New Year and the cold weather sure didn't help this time round and it's just now that I find I am back feeling motivated and eager to go again. 15 days into the new year but who's counting!

It wasn't until the other day I was at my boyfriends and we were talking when he randomly asked me to go and sit next to him for a cuddle. When I asked why he said you just looked really miserable over there. I was genuinely just scrolling on Instagram, but it made me snap out of whatever I was going through and want to do more.

Could it be that holidays are actually bad for me? Do holidays ruin reality for us? Before Dubai, I was waking up at 8am and sticking to a really tight schedule. But ever since coming back all I've been thinking about is planning the next trip, and rewatching gossip girl, because why not. It wasn't like I was going anywhere for the time being.

I never got a chance last summer to post these images from my short stop in Sete during my cruise in June so I thought it would be a great time to share them alongside a life update.

This year I have a lot more trips planned and I hope it doesn't take this long to snap right back into the groove of it all again. But it made me think a lot about myself and the downward spiral I could fall into if I continued on this path. Would this lead to anxiety? Could it lead to depression?

Motivation is such an important part of everyday. And it comes in the form of such simple things like getting out of bed in the morning. Eating breakfast before noon and getting out of the house to run errands. It doesn't have to be something really big.

This is something that I haven't really ever spoken on this blog about before, but this year I've decided to let you all in a lot more. I want my readers to know who I am and I want to know you all too. It's important for me to build an open discussion on this topic.

If you're going through something similar, or not, just remember that this too shall pass.

My Everyday Face Make-Up Products

Tuesday, 24 February 2015

I'm a big fan of the natural makeup look. I love keeping everything simple and experimenting with different lipstick colours.

It's been highly requested that I do a post on my daily make up so here it is. These are the products I currently apply on my face daily; to take me from zombie, to something mildly more attractive (I hope).

I've always thought if you've got a great base, you can always create a new look by switching it up with a different coloured lipstick or changing your eye make up.

I've only recently bought the Este Laudre foundation but I'm obsessed. There are a range of different colours and different finishes which can be tailored around your skin type. This is probably the first time I've ever used liquid foundation and you can find out why in my post about the Anti Ageing Press Event here.

Another staple item in my make up bag is the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. This palette (for me) is more casual. It's great for when you're in a rush in the morning and because the colours are so light it's harder to make any mistakes. It's literally my go to pallet. I usually use the shades Strange, Limit, Nooner and a small amount of Darkside on a daily basis. But it's also great for a night out as it has all the glitter and darker colours.

I also use a tiny bit of nude eyeliner on my water line just to brighten my eyes.

I always switch up my lipstick depending on my mood but today I felt a little vampy and went for Mac Captive.

What's your go to make up? Do you have a particular product that you have to wear every day?

Anti- Ageing Press Event

Monday, 9 February 2015

It's always lovely being invited to press events and I was lucky enough to be invited to the anti-ageing press even in Haymarket hotel. I know what you’re thinking; you’re 22 why are you going to this event, I too was a bit sceptical as I thought, what do I need with anti-ageing products, but I can assure you that it has really helped me in the long run in regards to keeping my skin healthy, hydrated and youthful.

My Skin
Throughout my whole teenage- adult life, I've always thought I have oily skin; I would always end up with a shiny forehead, constantly trying to dry my skin out. In my teenage years I had horrible acne riddled skin. As time went on, the acne was gone and I started to get dry patches along my forehead and around the mouth. But still I would exfoliate daily and use a load of natural oils as moisturisers.

Lloyds Pharmacy
I have been told to stop doing everything straight away and sort it out. I was lucky enough to have my skin checked and tested for elasticity, hydration and sebum levels by Lloyds pharmacy at the event. As soon as I sat down the beautician asked what my skin was like and I answered, oily, and she looked sceptical. Well according to the machine, my skin was super dry, dehydrated and had no elasticity. Shocker. My mind was blown; now I’ve had completely change my routine. I suggest that everyone goes and gets their skin tested at least once in your life, just so you know that what you're doing is beneficial and that you're not actually damaging your skin like I was. You’ll be able to have this test done at the anti-ageing show in May. (I’ve got all the details down below)

PhFormula
After this I went over to PhFormula and had an anti-ageing (no peel, peel) facial. It was amazing. It was so relaxing, hydrating and I received a lot of information. There was a small amount of acid applied to the skin, then the mask, then a CC (colour corrector) cream which left my skin absolutely glowing. I was given a recovery kit, with a load of different creams to make sure my skin stayed hydrated after.

These treatments are available and you can find all the information at www.phformula.com where they tailor each treatment for your own needs.

Also to my surprise, Pam, the lady performing the facial was actually a Nurse Practitioner in Aesthetics who asked me if my ‘eyebrows were real?’ To her surprise I said I was all natural and she kept asking, no fillers, or tattooed make up? And my favourite part of the evening was when she said my nose was a roman nose, ‘perfect and beautiful’. HA, in your face to all the boys in school who used to tease me about my nose. Surgically speaking, my nose is PERFECT (I still don’t agree but whatever) If you know me, you know that my nose is probably the least favourite part of my body.

I would like to say thank you to Kelsey for taking my photos throughout my treatment and making me feel so relaxed. Also thank you to Pam for performing the facial, she was very kind and gave me a lot of information. As you can see from the before and after shots, my skin looks hydrated, plumped and a lot fresher than before. If you would like to try this treatment for yourself, you can find your nearest clinic here.

Other brands at the event
Back to the show, there were lots of different other brands such as Elemis, NuSkin and they have all given me lots of products to try out which I will be reviewing for you all.

Finally, there was a beauty supplement which I have agreed to trial for 30 days. It’s called RejuveMe. It’s full of green tea and lots of other ingredients that I will explain in my review. I've been trying to find my perfect mixture with the sample I was given and I'll let you all know in my review once my 30 days are over.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Martin for inviting me and looking after me throughout the event, you truly are a star.

If you have any anti-ageing tips you've been doing leave me a comment down below and share your secret with us all.

Stay tuned for all my new beauty posts, this event has really inspired me to take better care of my skin from the inside out.

If you would like to go to the Anti-ageing show (16th and 17th May) and see the brands mentioned above and many more visit here and type the code 'Teral' to purchase 2 for 1 tickets.

Hair Trade: Big Sexy Hair Spray

Monday, 12 January 2015

*This post is SPONSORED by Hair Trade*

Recently the lovely girls at hair trade and e-tailPr sent me a hair spray that I've wanted to try for a while. I couldn't wait to try it out.

As someone with long hair that gets oily really quickly, I'm always on the hunt for new products that will help add volume while keeping it looking fresh and clean.

The Big Sexy Hair Backcomb hairspray has done wonders to my hair in regards to styling. It leaves my hair with a soft texture whilst still firm at the same time. Sounds strange, but some hairsprays leave your hair feeling sticky, whereas this product is easily brushed out which is always handy considering I'm not a pro at hairstyles.

I used this product to tease and to help style my hair in the above photograph.

There are tones more products in the range so make sure you check them out here.

What's your favourite hair styling products for long hair that gets oily quickly?

Dress Oh My Love | Sandals New Look | Necklace Topshop | Phone Case Hermes | Bracelet & Sunglasses Primark

After a year of no routine, it seems that in two weeks I have finally found a routine for myself, all thats left is to schedule in some gym time and I'm all sorted.

This dress was an absolute bargain from Oh My Love (bought in Topshop) for £9 over the summer. The straps had stretched and were way too loose, so I made sure to put my (minimal) craft skills in to use and shortened the straps to make this my go to summer dress this season.

The colour is gorgeous and looks great with a tan, and some tan leather sandals.

I've kept make up to a minimum using a coral lip balm and using a bit of highlighter to give that sun-kissed skin look.

Top Primark | Jeans Topshop | Shoes Zara | Bag Zara | Leather Jacket Turkey | Rings and Necklace Turkey | Watch Burberry | Sunglasses Celine

This stunning leather jacket was a present from my parents over the summer. They know how much I love different things, stuff you can't find on the high street so when they saw this jacket they knew I would love it. It's extremely different to anything I've ever seen before and bought from a leather whole sale in Turkey, there are none other in the world. this is the only one made and that is a huge plus in my books.

The beautiful blue tone looks amazing with these pink/nude jeans from Topshop. I've tried to keep it minimal as I'm an all round minimalist when it comes to fashion, the term "less is more" is definitely my motto.

I know my blog posts have been diabolical in the sense that I have taken a break from it all, and spent the summer trying to find myself and my unique style. Things haven't changed much, yet I feel more confident with my writing, my ideas and my style.

As a journalist graduate I have found it difficult to find a job in the field that I want to work in, and it is just unreasonable to intern any longer. For the time being I've decided to work in another aspect that has quite frankly changed the way I think. So if you've just graduated, don't be afraid to try something new and different, it's always good to push yourself to experience new things.

Tiny tea- TEAtox

Friday, 22 November 2013

So after much deliberation as to whether this tea works or not, whether it is worth the 10$ shipping fee and weather the comments back on Instagram were true or not I decided I needed this product in my life and Monday afternoon I ordered my 28day tea-tox.

I've never been a health freak or an exercise freak but lately I been noticing that those bits that used to jiggle are doing a whole lot more jiggling and decided to join the gym and give this tea tox a go. And because it's coming from halfway across the world I was extremely happy when my package arrived this day. I have not started my tea-tox yet but in super excited! I will keep you guys updated as to whether this works or not.

From what I have read, most people start to notice a difference in their weight (most say they lose 2inches,) their skin clears up and they feel more energised. I've also read that the taste of the tea is not delicious so to speak. But hey you can't have everything. And I'm glad that they don't shy away from the taste factor. If I read nothing bad about the product I would have been even more skeptical about trying it. As a girl who only drinks peppermint tea, this is a big deal and I can't wait to keep you all updated.

Have a lovely weekend.

Three Things I Love- 18/06/13

Tuesday, 18 June 2013

Hello my loves, tomorrow is my 21st birthday! How exciting! I'm so nervous to be turning 21, but I can't wait. Currently I am on my way home after mum made me go present shopping with her as I am "too fussy" I need to pick them myself. Moving on here what I love this week.

1- Sunflowers. These have always been my favourite flowers. I adore the colour yellow so for me these are just perfect. They make me happy and smiley.

2- Baby photos. The other day I came across a bunch of baby photos I put in storage and ahh I love them. I have to admit I was a cute lil bubba, always smiling and always eating. I was OBSESSED with this outfit that I'm wearing down bellow. I wouldn't ever want to change out of it (not even to wash, how gross) but when my mum gave it away to charity because I grew too big for it I cried soo much. How sad. Hey I've always been a fashion lover. Also I must say I'm a true 90s girl rocking the high waisted, with the crop top, the neon and jelly shoes. Still to this day I love my crop tops.

3- Finally and most importantly, I love my family. Obviously I always love them, but this week they've been extra sweet and cheesy, spoiling me rotten for my birthday. So a thank you to my family for everything they have done for me.

REVIEW: Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara

Thursday, 23 May 2013

In Mays Glossybox, I received a full sized Jelly Pong Pong mascara. You can't imagine my excitement when I opened my box. I've heard a lot about Jelly Pong Pong and in a previous Glossybox I have used and loved their lip tinted moisturiser. So I was excited to try this out. The box itself says that this mascara is "not for the faint hearted" and that it "makes eye lashes flutter, thicker & curvier." And it truly does.

At a first glance:
I was unsure about this product, the packaging doesn't look luxurious like high end products.  The box is cute in a pale blue with white and pink flowers, however the mascara itself looks quite childlike, the wand looks like it won't really work and i was hesitant to try it. It reminded me of something I would have liked around ten years ago. As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover.

Because it really is a great product. My eyelashes feel so long, I can feel them on my brow bone which I absolutely love. You can reapply the product without it getting clumpy and it has a real good black colour. It also doesn't smudge  throughout the day.

All in all I am very pleased with this product despite the child like packaging. This product is £15 and can be bought from here.
