OOTD: I Know I'm Not The Only One

Thursday 25 September 2014

Trousers Missguided | Top Topshop |  Blazer Primark | Shoes Russell &Bromley | Bag Michael Kors | Necklace Turkey

A year after graduation I still haven’t found my dream job, but as the title says I know I’m not the only one.

Recent figures show that unemployment statistics have risen, yet we are still to see the results of the majority getting into a job that they have studied.

There have been many blog posts about unemployment and the (depression) stress that comes along with it, but people are yet to give solutions.

Number one is GET YOURSELF A JOB. Anything to get the ball going. Something preferably paid, but we all know that the best jobs require slave labour. Making endless amounts of cups of tea, food runs in the rain and hours and hours in the ‘cupboard’ cleaning and sorting clothes to go back to Pr companies- Closer Magazine I’m looking at you. But reality shows there are bills to be paid and lives to live.

You might as well be doing something else whilst working on getting that dream job. The one thing I keep reminding myself is that I’m not the only one, and the day will come that I can finally say I’ve done it.

This brings me to my outfit of the day. My new job requires me to dress smart and presentable and I have been dying to show you guys an office look.

I'm so in love with these Missguided trousers, the shape is so flattering and the colour is perfect for A/W.

Shirt Primark | Jumper Topshop | Jeans Topshop | Glasses Tom Ford

I didn't get a chance to take some photos outside today, instead I took a quick snap as I got home from work.

What makes this outfit different to many I've worn before is simply that this jumper is cropped. It allows more shirt to be visible and gives this lovely shape at the bottom.

I'm looking forward to pairing this jumper with a more detailed shirt. And I'm supper excited that I'll be able to continue wearing crop tops the ought winter without having those beady eyes that scream "what were you thinking, you're going to be ill".

I also put on my glasses today as I didn't want to wear much jewellery.

OOTD: Blame It On The Night

Dress Primark | Shoes Zara | Bag Chanel | Ring Turkey | Belt  Alexander McQueen | Watch Burberry | Sunglasses Celine

Fashion is not about buying lots of different things, it's about working with what you've got and styling it to be something that suits your body and your personality.

I feel like this collar makes me look like a school girl but with schools and university students getting ready to start it's bang on trend.

I love mixing high street with designer and have found a perfect mix of Primark and Chanel.

I also adore the contrast between dogtooth print and a bright clashing colour. This can easily be done with a pair of dogtooth trousers and a clashing top.

Dress Oh My Love | Sandals New Look | Necklace Topshop | Phone Case Hermes | Bracelet & Sunglasses Primark

After a year of no routine, it seems that in two weeks I have finally found a routine for myself, all thats left is to schedule in some gym time and I'm all sorted.

This dress was an absolute bargain from Oh My Love (bought in Topshop) for £9 over the summer. The straps had stretched and were way too loose, so I made sure to put my (minimal) craft skills in to use and shortened the straps to make this my go to summer dress this season.

The colour is gorgeous and looks great with a tan, and some tan leather sandals.

I've kept make up to a minimum using a coral lip balm and using a bit of highlighter to give that sun-kissed skin look.

Dress Missguided | Poncho Miss Selfridge | Boots Zara | Bag Brandy Melville | Sunglasses Primark | Necklace Ebay

I am longing for autumn/winter now.

It's that in-between stage where the winter clothes are all over the shops, mornings and evenings are freezing and during the day is mildly warm. I would much rather it be one season, not a mixture of three.

None the less, I am able to wear my poncho (blanket) out with a cute little dress. I'm so in love with this poncho, the colour is great for the winter and it is absolutely so warm, would look great over a leather jacket as well as just a large cardigan.

Top Primark | Jeans Topshop | Shoes Zara | Bag Zara | Leather Jacket Turkey | Rings and Necklace Turkey | Watch Burberry | Sunglasses Celine

This stunning leather jacket was a present from my parents over the summer. They know how much I love different things, stuff you can't find on the high street so when they saw this jacket they knew I would love it. It's extremely different to anything I've ever seen before and bought from a leather whole sale in Turkey, there are none other in the world. this is the only one made and that is a huge plus in my books.

The beautiful blue tone looks amazing with these pink/nude jeans from Topshop. I've tried to keep it minimal as I'm an all round minimalist when it comes to fashion, the term "less is more" is definitely my motto.

I know my blog posts have been diabolical in the sense that I have taken a break from it all, and spent the summer trying to find myself and my unique style. Things haven't changed much, yet I feel more confident with my writing, my ideas and my style.

As a journalist graduate I have found it difficult to find a job in the field that I want to work in, and it is just unreasonable to intern any longer. For the time being I've decided to work in another aspect that has quite frankly changed the way I think. So if you've just graduated, don't be afraid to try something new and different, it's always good to push yourself to experience new things.

Lots of Love
