This Seasons Must Have Coat With Superdry

Sunday, 22 October 2017

When I start to feel the chill in London, the first thing I want to do is get myself a new season coat. This is something I have done for as long as I can remember. Each year, during half term I would set about finding this seasons must have coat to wear all winter long.

Over the years I have set myself a target of acquiring a coat for every occasion. Smart, casual, smart casual, light coat, winter coats, my I couldn't give a f*ck what I look like I'm warm coat and many more.

This year, I noticed there was one thing missing from my wardrobe. I've never owned a navy coat, so this years mission was to find a navy coat that I could wear to meetings and events that was smart but still quite demure at the same time.

In the spring I picked up a gorgeous trench coat from Superdry and received so many compliments on it. People were in awe of the pieces I picked up from the store a few months back, pleasantly impressed that Superdry were no longer just a sportswear brand. Over the last few seasons, their pieces have been a lot more trend led with a focus on quality and fit and that's why I was excited to have a look at their new AW range to see if there was anything that caught my eye.

As the weather in London has dramatically dropped, I've been getting good wear out of this navy coat. It makes me look put together even when I am wearing basic clothes. For this look I wanted to show how everyday basics could still look sophisticated and elegant. I put on a very old white roll neck sweater with some flared trousers and decided to put my hair in a low bun. This is something I don't do often but I thought it worked really well with the collar of the coat. This navy coat would still look amazing over a dress or even a pair of jeans. It's extremely versatile and perfect for this season.

In this particular style I would size down. Initially I picked this up in a size (M) but had to exchange it for an (XS) as it comes up quite large. I usually like coats to be quite big so that I can layer underneath, however, despite going down a few sizes I still have a lot of room for thicker layers and the coat still looks sleek and fitted on me.

If you're not a fan of navy coats, this particular one also comes in a grey and white mottled herringbone effect.

How to keep warm in the winter

Tuesday, 16 February 2016

shop my look here:

Temperatures have really dropped as of late and I for one, can't stand it. Give me spring for six months and summer for the rest and I'm a happy bunny. As I write this post, my throat feels sore and i'm wrapped up in jumpers and blankets with the heating on full. Am I the only one who does this?

So when it comes to winter style I'm always looking for items that look amazing and keep me so warm. For me, there's nothing worse than being cold.

When I saw this adorable coat from Zara I fell in love. You all know my obsession for navy is growing and my navy clothing collection is ever on the increase and I knew this would be a great addition.

I absolutely love wearing navy and grey. I feel the tones look absolutely stunning together and can be worn both smart or casual. The fact that the jumper had a turtle/roll neck meant that I didn't need to wear a scarf as my neck was already covered and warm.

All in all, this outfit is perfect for this time of the year, it's warm and elegant while still looking sophisticated.

How do you keep warm in the winter?
