How To Style Flares This Season

Monday 10 October 2016

If there's one trend from AW16 I am obsessed with its flares. Flared trousers and especially flared sleeves. With a hint of the 60s this trend has been completely transformed into something the modern woman can be seen wearing to work, a night out or a fancy dinner without looking like she's playing dress up. Obsessed.

I was browsing Zara, as I do regularly and I instantly fell head over heels for this two piece. You've all seen me in a range of different two-pieces, like this one and this one. But nothing quite so covered but I love it.

Apart from the wonderful sleeves, what I really liked about the top is that it's long. i have a very long upper body so it's always hard to find tops that are long for me (or bodysuits, they're just not made for tall people!) and this one skims mid bum which is perfect for the winter.

I decided to go completely casual in terms of footwear and styled with a pair of superstars. I felt like this was the perfect shoe for this outfit as it make it edgy and above all comfortable. Also, I was worried that if I added heels I would have flares swinging above floor length and that just wouldn't do! The splash of white trainers also matched the white border on the sleeves which brightens the all black outfit up a little.

Are you loving flares as much as I am? What's your favourite trend for AW16?
